Best Restaurants in London

There are very few places in the world that do not miss when it comes to food, but London truly has the best cuisine in the world. Not because culturally the food is great, but because London is the most diverse city in the world, so if you are a serious restaurant, you have to be in London.

Below are some of the best restaurants in London that consistently get it right. I won't deceive you; they are all expensive restaurants and probably should be saved for special occasions if you are watching your pocket, but you need to work your way through this list.

In no particular order:

Sexy Fish

This is not a seafood-only restaurant; they serve everything. The decor and ambiance are on point, so make sure you are dressed the part when dining here. The food is unbelievable, the cocktail range is extensive, and the cheesecake is hands down the best out there.

Tattu

Incredible decor, one might even say magical. Excellent service, as you would expect from a restaurant on this list, but excellent service in a genuine way. It might be because they are one of the newer restaurants, but you'll be very happy with the experience because of the service. The food won't blow you away; everything is very tasty and quite good. It's more of an all-rounded experience. This is certainly a restaurant for the group to have a good time, take some snaps for the gram, and chow down some tasty food.

Ivy Asia

Mostly everything on the menu tastes scrumptious. When you match that with the decor and service, it's a no-brainer this restaurant makes it on the list. It's a very fun restaurant and one I would recommend for a group experience. They also have a private dining room which is great for a small private celebration.

Hawksmoor

A staple restaurant in London, with a number of chains throughout. No matter which one you go to and how many times you go, the meat is always on point. The service is great, and the decor is very simple but classy. You can come here for all types of occasions: business meetings, catching up with friends, dinner celebration; it's a restaurant for everything. Consider this a restaurant that you need to visit multiple times so you can work your way through all types of steak as this is their specialty. I would highly recommend the Sunday Roast, which is probably the best in London. Be sure to book way in advance because it's that good but also very reasonably priced. Don't be shocked when the food comes out, and the portion looks small; I bet you won't finish it!

Goodmans

Another unbelievable steak restaurant and probably a very close rival to Hawksmoor. I think it slightly gets the edge because their sides are simply unbelievable. It's very similar to Hawksmoor in terms of decor, occasion, and cost, so don't expect much of a difference, but if you love Steak, this restaurant is a must.

Hakkasan

It doesn't matter what you order on the menu; you will enjoy it. It's a great option for a group booking, so you can get as much food as possible and share. The decor is of that very sensual ambiance style, where everything is dark. I find dimly lit restaurants a bit peculiar because I want to see my food and the people I'm with, but hey that's just me. Hakkasan is on the pricier side, and before you blink, you've racked up the pounds, but only really once the wine and cocktails start flowing. They do have a very strict time allocation, so don't be surprised if they kick you out after your 2-hour limit; this restaurant is always busy.

Sushi Samba

One of my favorite restaurants; it genuinely has everything. The decor is memorable, and it was one of the first restaurants to start fusing cuisines and doing it well. If you visit the Liverpool Street location, you'll just love the views and the whole lift experience. The service is wonderful, and if you are lucky enough to get a window seat, it just sets off your experience. This restaurant is great for all occasions, but group bookings will probably be the most fun because of the atmosphere. Sushi Samba never disappoints, and that's also the case in every country you find it.

Nobu

Nobu is an original foodie destination. It's probably fallen off a bit in terms of quality of food, but it's still a very solid restaurant. If you haven't been before, then you have to go so you can tick it off the list. Service is decent but not outstanding, and the bill at the end will have you wondering what you ate. I know I'm not selling it very well, but it's just one of those restaurants that you have to visit.

STK

Great restaurant for occasions and probably a very good starting point if you fancy going out after dinner, as Radio Rooftop Bar is upstairs. STK has a very glamorous ambiance, so make sure you dress the part. Everything on this menu tastes great, but no trip to STK is complete without the mac and cheese and those delightful sliders.

Yauatcha

By no means the least great restaurant on the list, but also very similar to many of the other restaurants on this list. Good Asian food, good service, and great atmosphere. I would say it's quite similar to Hakkasan in terms of taste, delivery, and quality of food, which is a given because they are sister restaurants.

There you have it; here is our no-nonsense best restaurants in London list. Honestly speaking, every restaurant on this list is very good, and I would recommend trying every single one of them if you can.
