Where to stay in New Delhi as an International Traveller

If you’ve not been to India before they take security very seriously! So be prepared for all the checks!

They even checked under the hood of the car of the taxi as we approached the hotel.

The Pullman is located in Aerocity which is a purpose built city near the airport mainly for people that work in travel, such as pilots and airline staff.

It has loads of really nice restaurants and bars, so staying in this location is great but it doesn’t give you a genuine experience of New Delhi.

Upon arriving at the Pullman, it has the grandure of an international hotel which is a great feeling if you are used to staying in these types of hotel. It’s not incredibly modern in terms of the look and feel but it’s very decent.

The hotel lobby is very large, clean and service as you would expect in India is first class.

A very smooth check in process, which is always a bonus.

I stayed in a standard room, at the time of booking they only had twin rooms but they saw I was by myself and changed my room to a King. This type of customer service and initiative is what I love! I didnt need to request it someone just made the change to enhance my experience.

The room itself was on the 5th floor, quite spacious and generally quite pleasant. The hotel room was clean and the bathroom was a good size. Most importantly shower pressure was pretty good. It’s not incredible but does the job and I had no real complaints.

Breakfast at bread basket was pretty good. They have a pretty good spread of international food and also local food. They have a cooking station for eggs and also pancakes - which were both delicious.

The staff as you would expect are very helpful and on hand to help with anything you need.

All in all, it’s a pretty ok hotel, nothing spectacular just does what it says on the tin. If I returned to Delhi I would probably try another hotel just to experience something new and luxury, but for business travel this is certainly sufficient.
